The Idan Raichel Project - Live in Australia
LIVE IN AUSTRALIA MARCH 2008 - SOLD OUT TOUR!
"A multi-ethnic tour de force. ” - Billboard Magazine US
Following sold out tours in the USA, the Middle East & Europe...
The most successful performance ensemble in Israeli popular music history has just performed sold out shows throughout Australia, selected to play at two unique music festivals; the iconic Sydney Opera House' s Hemispheres and WOMADelaide, plus a further 6 concerts throughout Australia and Hong Kong!
One Entertainment has had the pleasure of touring the band in Australia and Hong Kong this March, and we thank all that helped to make this tour such a success.
Thanks to all that attended the concerts, and to our sponsors: Eight Hotels, WOMADelaide, Sydney Opera House, TP Events, and to Annalee Atia, Ella Lankry, David Rubin, Emma Heath, Miranda Brown, Agostino Marcello, Janice Pezotti, Amir Paiss and Shai Shoham for all their hard work in making the tour possible!
The unique concept of The Idan Raichel Project is it’s beauty in diversity, it’s astonishingly bold, wide ranging palette of sounds intricately playing layer, upon layer to form a totally infectious sound that connects people and cultures.
The power of Idan Raichel’s music lies in his combination of ancient and modern with traditional instruments alongside guitars and electronica while mixing live vocals and sampled sounds. Ethiopian songs, Arabic poetry, Yemenite chants, ancient Jewish psalms, with rhythmic influences from the Caribbean and Africa weaved into a new and inspiring expression of Israeli popular music.
The Idan Raichel Project is a mosaic of traditions side by side in Israel, and a vision for the world.
With triple platinum album sales and sold out concerts Australia-wide, The Idan Raichel Project is an unparalleled concert experience, not to be missed.
